KOTC Interview with Wes Combs:
By Krazy Mike January 15, 2006.
KM: Can you tell us when you will be fighting next and against whom?
WC: February 2nd in Colusa ca. I don't know who I'm fighting yet.
KM: Are you willing to fight anybody anytime?
WC: yes
KM: Do you fight as a fulltime job or do you have another job?
WC: No, I have a full time job. I'm the general manager for Spearmint Rhino in Rialto, California. Five days a week ten-hour days.
KM: What are your future MMA goals?
WC: To hold a belt
KM: You seem to have several fans, how does that inspire you when you’re in the cage?
WC: When I'm standing on the top of the ramp and I look out and see fans yelling for me, I can feel their energy. When you feel like you have nothing left and you have a supportive fan base out there yelling for you, it gives you the energy to rise above your opponent and pull through. Support is important in the cage and in life in general.
KM: You have not lost in the cage yet, would you like a Title Shot?
WC: Yes, I would
KM: You seem to have good stand up, do you like to stand and bang?
WC: Stand up is the best thing. That is what people pay to see. They want to see someone go out like a light.
KM: Were you previously in the military?
WC: Yes, I did four years in the U.S.M.C
KM: Any fighter you would like to fight?
WC: No one in particular. I'll fight whom ever they give me.
KM: When did you first start fighting?
WC: Back in 2002 for Ted Williams
KM: What is your official MMA record?
WC: Wins 10 Loses - 0
KM: When you’re not training for a fight, what do you like to do for fun?
WC: In the summer we go scuba diving, in the winter snowboarding. And for year round fun, my fiancée and I race and do stunts on our rockets. (I have a ZX-7 and she is on an R-6) My top speed (for now) is 160 mph. When nothing is planned, I like to spend time at home because of my hectic work and training schedule.
KM: Are you married or single? Any Kids?
WC: I have a fiancée and I have one Daughter that I have custody of.
KM: Who is your favorite fighter?
WC: If I had to say one, I would say the Iceman (Chuck Liddell) I like the way he puts people to sleep.
KM: Do you have any sponsors?
WC: Big bear tattoo. Keep it reel productions. Upgrade lift shop. Total transportation logistics. Tapout.
KM: I would like to thank you on behalf of kingofthecage.com and Krazy Mike’s Korner for taking the time to do this interview and wish you luck in your next fight. In closing would you like to add anything?
NP: I would like to thank all of my fans for being so supportive and a huge thank you to the people who have helped me get to where I'm at in my fighting career. And one more final thank you to the people who helped me get started in fighting; Ted Williams, Thomas Denny, and Terry Trebilcock. Of Course Krazy Mike for the interview and kingofthecage.com.
