I saw a quick report on the tube that Mir hurt his back in training. Apparently he may need surgery and his fight with Lesnar is off. Anybody else hear anything? I wasn't really paying attention to the t.v. and only caught a glimpse.

Injured Frank Mir Unable To Fight Brock Lesnar At UFC 98? (Updated)
http://mmafrenzy.com/9562/injured-frank-mir-unable-to-fight-brock-lesnar-at-ufc-98/
While there is little information available at this time, fiveouncesofpain.com is reporting (http://fiveouncesofpain.com/2009/03/06/injury-to-frank-mir-forces-cancellation-of-ufc-98-rematch-vs-brock-lesnar/)that, according to “multiple sources”, Frank Mir will not be competing at UFC 98 in his scheduled heavyweight unification title match against Brock Lesnar.
The report states that Mir has been dealing with a back injury which has stalled his training, and now may require surgery- never a good sign. However sources for MMAWeekly (http://www.mmaweekly.com/absolutenm/templates/dailynews.asp?articleid=8325&zoneid=13) are reporting that it is a knee injury for which Mir recently underwent surgery, putting him out for approximately four to six weeks, and that the UFC has had no comment on these developments.
Although there has yet to be any word on a potential replacement opponent for Lesnar, I would imagine that the UFC would prefer to keep Brock on the card, otherwise lose some serious drawing power.
Without Mir vs. Lesnar, the UFC 98 line-up looks like this:
Matt Hughes vs. Matt Serra
Frank Edgar vs. Sean Sherk
Kyle Bradley vs. Phillipe Nover
James Irvin vs. Drew McFedries
Brandon Wolff vs. Yoshiyuki Yoshida
Josh Koscheck vs. Chris Wilson
Houston Alexander vs. Andre Gusmao
Pat Barry vs. Tim Hague
David Kaplan vs. George Roop
