Man haveing a another King of the Ring event back in
Edmonton is another bonus to the city of champions.
Its just to bad that we never get at least on or two heavy weight or even a super weight fight.
at the last couple of events that have past by its going to be hard for ken to get close to singe a cote type guy to take a fight the distance..
and Sunday why Sunday!!! http://www.keepersofthecage.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dry.gif

It was either a Fathers Day show, or no show at all.
Other promoters have done very well with Sunday afternoons so we thought we would try it too. Guess we'll find out if it's a good idea or not.

a few guys i know are suppose to be fighting on that card but no card yet.whats up?and is the main event really a title fight?and how many fights?
Zues1500
06-05-2006, 10:35 PM
The main event is a title fight now because apparently Cote could not defend his belt so he had to vacate it, Galbraith won the #-1 contender fight at the KOTC in Feb so he gets his shot, and Ricardeau Francois I guess is the guy that Cote won a RAZOR thin split decision over (Some say Cote lost) plus has 14 MMA Fights so I guess he's the Quebec entry??

SO FROM WHAT I CAN GATHER FROM YOU ZUES IS THE ONLY FIGHT ON THE CARD IS TRAVIS VS RICARDEAU FOR THE TITLE. DO YOU KNOW OF ANY OTHER FIGHTS?I ONLY KNOW FIVE OF THE FIGHTS ON THE CARD.

Galbraith over Francois by Submission
Bongfeldt over Kaszuba by KO
Elmer Waterhen over Myles Merola by Decision (I thought Chris Ade was fighting Waterhen??)
Claude Patrick over Neil Berry by TKO or KO or anything he wants as this is a huge mismatch!
Don't know much about either of these two guys but I will roll the dice and go with Danny Valimacki over Hicks by TKO
Jason Zazalenchuk over Mike Yakulic by Submission

Galbraith's opponent in Calgary was Todd Seyler form Ohio. I think that big roid monkey was that guy from Calgary that has a martial arts club somewhere.............can't remember his name though!

Hey Zues and I think you mean Zeus, anyway did you see there fight? That Marcus guy is Nasty and Danny is a tough guy.I bet you both of them will do well in the mma scene.I would actually like to say I think both of you had the best fight of the night. It was continuous action and you both landed some good shots,Danny a Nice kick,Marcus I saw you in Calgary and Edmonton and my man you are a beast you slam these guys like its nothing and by the way I think you left your neck in the dressing room..lol.I would like to see more big fighters like you two and less of the little guys. And props to Galbraith your a beast too,I thought that guys head was gonna pop off nice win.Galbraith vs. Cote should be next before any world title shots.

Its all fun and games I think Hicks will be Around for a while The only problem with this guy is that he has too much Respect .
I known that he has to get more mean.
you started great ? I don't know But Danny is a Big Kid long arms like an ape.

Marcus IS a beast. Very strong and aggressive. I'm sure once we both have a few more fights under our belts we'll have a rematch. Marcus had the more successful shots. My high kick was blocked (unfortunitally).... he cut my face. Hicks will do very well in the future. I didn't even get a chance to put my ape arms to use. It's very nice to hear that people enjoyed that fight. To be honest, I have no idea what that fight looked like to other people. I hope it was entertaining for you guys.

I was at widowmaker and I think there were only four fights that really got and kept my attention. The main event with the guy from Edmonton who won that was an alright fight.I liked the davis-ritch fight I thought davis was done on that heel hook. There was an early fight with two skinny kids one bled lots and then won.My favorite fight was the Valimaki-Hicks fight too.Zues you obviously weren't there cause I think if you were you would have saw that Danny is a big fighter 6'4 or 6'5 and I don't see alot of guys doing well against him.Hicks you are now the guy I'm watching don't let me down.To continue what some of these guys said you are a beast and when you walked with valimaki from the cage to the middle of the cage and slammed him that reminded me of matt hughes.I heard you were quite down on yourself for losing, listen everybody loses and you just gassed and then made a mistake and he capitalized.Don't worry buddy I think you will do well and I can see you fighting for the belt one day.Danny you are a bit of a beast yourself, because I can't see alot of guys taking shots, slams, and the relentlessness of Hicks and I thought you were done when he landed a couple big shots and you looked like you were out on your feet up against the cage. Both fighters have things to work on but I would definately pay to see you two go at it again. Are either of you guys fighting again soon?Where?Danny if offered the right money or if it was for the title would you fight your bro cause I see you as being the better fighter. Why are most of the posts or posters from Alberta doesn't anyone else come on here?I would also like to see Danny fight that francois 6'4 vs. 6'7.I would like to see Bongfeldt vs. G.Davis.C.Patrick vs. MW Champ.Hicks vs. Galbraith(not now,but with some more fight experience for hicks).Valimaki vs. Hicks Rematch.Zazelunchuk vs. Patrick.Yakulic vs. Patrick.Cote vs. Galbraith.Wheres Bill Mahood like to see him.Where are all those guys who fought at anarchy?Well time to go back later to discuss more.
Why are there not more fights like these and less one sided blow outs.
Guest

I don't do the matchmaking but there is no way to avoid one sided blow outs in this sport. You can take two guys who go the distance one time and next time they fight it can be over in seconds. We try to find equals, but even then, anything can happen.
Another thing that happens, is that you lose fights at the last minute and you have to replace them with whoever you can get. We do overbook to help with this and then sometimes we have too many fights. eg. Conquest in Calgary ran 4 1/2 hrs!
Sometimes main events in Pride, UFC etc. end quickly too and these fights could be costing them in the millions. You never know.

I agree with the other post you guys need more big fighters and less small ones.I think it would help if you guys had rankings in each weight class.Widowmaker was a pretty good show,it had a little of everything.I too liked the Valimaki-Hicks fight. But I disagree about the main event I think it was too one sided all travis on offence and all francois on defence. But a good show overall.Cheers KOTC!

Man, I'm flattered that everyone enjoyed our fight. I don't know if I'd fight Victor. As of now, he'd kill me in the cage. I'm not just being modest either. I'm curious to see who I'd get set up with for my next fight. I want to challenge myself but at the same time, I'm not ready for guys like my bro or Galbraith. As I mentioned before, I want to practice my kickboxing some more because it's my weakest area. I can't wait for my next fight though. I hope you guys will cheer me on.

Facts are,
KOTC is a nice package, kinda of like a Mc Donalds franchise. Jumbo screens, loud bangs, sparks flyings, tigh ass ring girls. Good for the average guy to come get drunk, shout and curse the fighters.
But the thruth is styles make fights and you guy don't have a f**&ing clue who is who or what the hell. Sure Keih is not new at promoting but what does he know about mma. Not a thing, none... Now the other partner in this owns a shotting range in Edmonton and again never hit the mats once. So who is makin these matches?
Your selffish system is ripping young fighters out of a long healthy fight career. So far I've never seen so many one sided fights on so many cards in a row. Maybe try to stop throwing a card every 2 weeks and focus on good solid matches.
Not one half ass fight and 15 green guy swimming at each other.
It just figures you'd have a "So you Wanna Fight " link on your site.

LOL Exactly................what a treat to have one of the "Pavelich Boys" on here hiding behind there pseudo name spewing crap about a show that makes the MFC look like midget wrestling!!
There is NO show........and I mean NO show in Canada that has more mis-matches and "Freak" fights that the MFC.
If I want to see guys with NO mma skill whatsoever such as Kevin Dolan and Kyle Cheyne and Yoosef Penney and Darren Appels (And the list goes on) all mixed together with CFL players that have NO right even being on an MMA card than the MFC is the place to see it LOL!

Just like judging,,,you dont need to be a ex fighter to be a good matchmaker or judge...but for mma judging it would help to have a thorough knowledge of mma.
the best fight card ever on paper could prove to be a sleeper, this is the sport!!!

it is a good and positive situation that kotc canada head ,ken ..is not a fighter or trainer.there will always be some extent of bias and corruption when an event is promoted by ,or judged or refereed by an individual who has a vested interest such as having their fighter or fighters on that event
